Fans of the video game “Fortnite” were left angry and confused Sunday when the game suddenly went black, leaving them no way to play. The internet lit up with reports from parents saying their children were having meltdowns. It’s estimated 5.5 million online gamers witnessed the unexpected ending to “Fortnite” season 10 when the game faded to a black hole. Jim West, a licensed mental health counselor, said video game addictions come up in his sessions with young clients at least twice a day. He said the extreme reactions to the “Fortnite” blackout are concerning.
